About Opera Spanga Since 1989, the Spanga het Verona van Weststellingwerf Foundation (OPERA SPANGA) has been producing operas and opera films in its own unique way in the Frisian village of Spanga. The company is committed to keeping the medium of opera very much alive; the only thing that is predictable is its unpredictability. The location – the small village of Spanga (population 200) and its surroundings – contributes to its success.
