The Electric Flute

Floris van Bergeijk/Jonathan Levi

The new performance of Opera Spanga will premiere during the Oranjewoud Festival.

Two centuries ago, W.A. Mozart rocked Vienna with his opera Die Zauberflöte. In may of 2015, OPERA SPANGA will shake things up in the 'royal' woods of Oranjewoud.

The Electric Flute will have Rock 'n Roll legs, a Pulp Fiction brain and a heart of Mozart gold. The brand new score is composed by Floris van Bergeijk. The English libretto is written by the American Jonathan Levi. Corina van Eijk will add her feverish fantasy and a cast of both opera- and pop singers will complete the team.

The result is a present-day fairy tale, situated in the hell of Washington DC. A place where excessive lust and ruthless politics will paint The White House red.

The Electric Flute is a performance for queens who love in the night, for men who crave for absolute power and youngsters who want to grow old fast.
