A BOAT TRIP THROUGH NATURE RESERVE 'DE ROTTIGE MEENTE'

This was once a depressing landscape where extremely poor inhabitants struggled through the damp bogs. It is now a beautiful nature reserve full of water and reeds. The history of the area is still in evidence here.

A perfect habitat for rare plants and animals, but also for those who enjoy the calm and solitude. The forest ranger from Staatsbosbeheer (the Forestry commission) will take you on a guided tour with a historical flatboat to introduce you to this unknown corner of Friesland. The trip takes around 1.5 hours, and takes place with a minumum of 10 people. The price is E10- per person.

SUMMER EXPOSITION OF TITI ZAADNOORDIJK

Titi shows her latest work in her beautiful studio and exhibition area: drawings of frivolous ladies in traditional costumes, a school of fish hooked from copper wire and multicolored lino's of affected animal figures are on display. Titi honors the remains of the past. For example, she made a series of booklets in which, among other things, wallpaper scraps from her old homes and sewing patterns from the war play a role.

Titi’s summer exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Opera Spanga performance period (closed only on Mondays). The rest of the year her studio is open by appointment. Address: Voetpad 69, 8483 JR Scherpenzeel (near the opera site).
