OPERA SPANGA

Since 1989 The Foundation Spanga, the Verona of Weststellingwerf (Opera Spanga) has been making quirky productions of operas and opera films in the Frisian hamlet of Spanga. 
 
Opera Spanga strives to keep the medium of opera alive and kicking -only the unpredictability is predictable! The location, the tiny village of Spanga (200 inhabitants) contributes to the success. The community plays an active role and a podium is provided for young talent and semi-professionals as well as dyed-in-the-wool professionals.
