2014 is OPERA SPANGA’s 25th year!

/To mark this anniversary OPERA SPANGA is working on a special project: Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini in collaboration with Sinfonia Rotterdam conducted by Conrad van Alphen.

You can attend this anniversary performance in Spanga on the following dates in August:

Wednesday the 6th, Thursday the 7th, Friday the 8th, Saturday the 9th, Wednesday the 13th, Thursday the 14th, Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th.

The Prince Bernhard Culture Fund received an extra contribution from Bank Giro Lottery for Opera on location in the summer of 2014.

Amsterdam, February 6, 2013.

As part of the Goed Geld Gala on February 5th, the Bank Giro Lottery contributed 14.685.961 euros to the Culture Fund. The Culture Fund also received an additional 450,000 euros from the proceeds of the Extra Drawing. The extra contribution is earmarked for the special project “Opera on Location”. The Culture Fund is thus able to support four notable opera events presented on unique open air locations. These will be presented by the National Traveling Opera, Opera South. Opera Spanga and Rotterdam Opera Days. This contribution has enabled Opera Spanga to finance a part of its latest opera production, Gianni Schicchi.

Romeo & Juliet was a success!

OPERA SPANGA can look back on a brilliant summer. The production Romeo and Juliet, Paradise Lies under your Mother’s Feet, was well attended. More than 1700 people experienced the performances in Spanga, Friesland. It received numerous positive reviews.
